Kennedy Family

Fourteen years ago, we began the journey of starting our family. It was a long and challenging process. After we had our biological daughter, we adopted our son from China when he was two years old. When we had been home with him for almost a year, we decided to adopt again. But, this time we chose to adopt from Haiti. It took us almost 8 years of waiting to bring our kids home. Three years ago, we finally got to meet our kids from Haiti in the Miami airport. Because we were adopting two children, our fees were doubled. We had no idea how we were going to make it work financially, but trusted that it would all work out. After applying for an Oath Grant, we got the news that we would be granted funds to help with our long and tedious adoption. But it wasn't just the financial gift that was such a blessing. After we came home with our kids, things were hard. REALLY hard. We got calls and texts from the Oath Fund staff checking in on us and letting us talk about our journey. That was as big of a blessing as the finances. It was such a gift to know that they were walking alongside us and saw us in those hard first days. It was incredible to know that they understood how challenging things were in those first few weeks and months and were praying for us and supporting us. We are so grateful to Oath for their financial support for our adoption. But, we're even more thankful for who they are and ways that they support families in this difficult and unique journey.
